Khairlanji survivor Bhotmange denies marriage with companion

Nagpur, Jul 25 (PTI) The lone survivor of the 2006 massacre of a Dalit
family in Bhandara district has denied that he has got married to her
new companion living with him.Bhaiyalal Bhotmange, whose wife Surekha,
daughter Priyanka and sons Roshan and Sudhir were brutally done to
death on September 29, 2006 at Khairlanji village by a mob, today told
reporters that there was no truth in rumours that he has tied the knot
with her companion.He alleged that some people were spreading rumours
about his marriage with Sheelabai, the woman staying with him in the
house provided by the State Government.The 52-year-old said Sheelabai
was a domestic help and preparing meals for him and doing other
household works.He alleged there was a conspiracy behind the marriage
rumours and the issue is being raised since the murder case was
pending before the Supreme Court.The massacre at Khairlanji, about 70
kms near here, had sparked a state-wide violence.A trial court, on
September 24, 2008, awarded capital punishment to six persons, while
two others were given life imprisonment in the case probed by
CBI.However, in July last year, Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court
commuted the death sentence of six convicts to 25 years imprisonment
and fixed a similar sentence for two others serving life term.
