Dalit burning: panel demands stringent action

HYDERABAD: The Committee Against Caste Discrimination on Thursday
demanded immediate arrest of persons belonging to upper castes
allegedly involved in the burning alive of a Dalit, Narsimha, and a
man belonging to BC community, Yellaiah, at Khaitapuram village, in
Nalgonda district. It wanted stringent action against them.
In a statement here, committee general secretary John Wesley sought
payment of Rs.5 lakh each as ex-gratia to the victims' families.
