No Dalit officer holding post of secy in Central govt: DoPT

NEW DELHI: Out of 88 posts of secretary in central government, there
is no officer from Scheduled Caste category serving in the high
position while one SC officer is posted as additional secretary.

The revelation comes from the DoPT which informed Parliament on
Wednesday about the total posts of secretary, additional secretary,
joint secretary and director at the Centre and the share of SC
officers in them.

While there are 13 SCs serving as joint secretary out of total of 249,
there are 31 directors from SC category out of a total of 471 posts.
