Dalits burn Amalapuram MP Harshakumar's effigy

Kakinada, Dec 18 : A large number of Dalits cutting across party lines
today took out a rally in the main streets of the town in support of a
united Andhra Pradesh and burnt the effigy of Amalapuram Congress MP
Harshakumar in front of Ambedkar statue for not falling in line with
other leaders in quitting the posts.

They raised slogans denouncing the MP for his unilateral stance
supporting separate Telangana state.

The demonstrators led by Thalluri Raju, Lily Mary Grace, Jakkala
Srividya kalyani have placed a memorandum at the feet of Dr Ambedkar
statue praying him to change the mind of Harshakumar and support the
cause of united Andhra Pradesh.

They claimed that majority of Dalits all over the state were seeking
integration but Harshakumar was acting otherwise.
