Dalit thrashed for trying to meet sister 'Mayawati'
Bijnore, Feb 21 : A dalit was lying in bed after being beaten severely
by some policemen for trying to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
Mayawati, calling her as his 'sister'.
Raj Kumar, resident of village Jabhnovala, had never thought he would
be thrashed so severely just for expressing his desire to meet his
'sister'.
The dalit's aged mother Gomti Devi, who is attending him, said the CM
had come to their house in 1993. Raj Kumar had also served tea to Ms
Mayawati, who had later encouraged him and called him as her brother.
However, police misbehaviour with Raj Kumar during Ms Mayawati's
recent visit to the district on February 19, had scared Raj Kumar and
his elderly mother terribly.
