Brahmin Society's concerns

SAPTARI, Mar 5: The Brahmin Society on Friday sent a memorandum to the
prime minister through the chief district officer, demanding formation
of federal states on the basis of classes and not on the basis of
ethnicity.

The society warned that the country will witness ethnic violence that
would even lead to disintegration of the country if the federal states
are formed on ethnic lines.

The society has also put forward six-point demand. Among other
demands, the society has called for inclusion of Brahmins on the list
of indigenous nationalities.
