Amritsar, Aug 27 (PTI) Family members of Sarabjit Singh, who is facing
death row in Pakistan, today again approached Vice-Chairman of
National Commission for SC/ST Raj Kumar Verka to do the needful for
his safe repatriation.Sarbjit's wife Sukhpreet Kaur, daughters
Swapndeep Kaur and Poonam pleaded Kumar to urge the Union government
to take up the issue at the earliest.Kumar assured the family of doing
the needful and said a notice was issued to Ministries of Foreign
Affairs and Home Affairs to ask about the government's effort and the
development in the case.Sarabjit's family members said it was the
right time for the government to take up the case of Sarbjit on
diplomatic level so that he could return to his family.The Indian
national, called Manjit Singh in Pakistan, was sentenced to death for
a string of bomb blasts in Lahore and Multan in 1990 in which 14
people were killed.He was set to be hanged on April one, 2008 but the
execution was put off after Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani
intervened.

ANANTAPUR: Alleging that a 12-year old Dalit student was beaten to
death by farmers for stealing tomatoes in a farm in Dimmameedapalle
village of NP Kunta mandal in the district, Madiga Dandora and MRPS
leaders staged a protest at the mandal headquarters of NP Kunta mandal
on Saturday.
They demanded immediate arrest of Ramana Reddy and other farmers in
the village, who they alleged had beaten Rajkumar, a VII class
student, holding him responsible for the thefts in their fields.
Rajkumar died on August 21. It was given to understand that he fell
into a pit accidentally. His parents buried the body.
But with rumours doing the rounds that he may have been murdered by
Ramana Reddy and others, the boy's parents, along with several
villagers and MRPS activists went to NP Kunta police station, and
demanded a re-postmortem of the body.
NP Kunta SI Subbaraydu had agreed for the re-postmortem after
discussing the issue with tahsildar Yella Reddy.
He said they could determine whether the death was accidental or
murder only after the postmortem reports are submitted.

HYDERABAD — The war against corruption launched by septuagenarian
activist Anna Hazare may have created ripples across the country but
his brand of social movement has evoked a sense of skepticism among a
section of Muslims and Dalits, who believe that it could lead to
'mobocracy' taking over Parliamentary democracy besides Sangh Parivar
elements using the movement to whip up religious sentiments.

Says Asaduddin Owaisi, President of Majlis-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen
(MIM): "Anna Hazare is creating chaos in the name of reformation. We
support the cause he has taken up but not the method he has chosen."

Owaisi, whose party has considerable influence in the old city areas,
said that Muslims were wary of the present trend that could lead to
subverting the supremacy of Parliament and forcing the government to
accept something without being debated by the elected representatives.

Owaisi, who represents Hyderabad in Lok Sabha, said: "Muslims and
other marginalised sections of society are also worried about the
forces that are behind the movement against corruption. With the BJP
asking the government to adopt Jan Lokpal Bill, the cat is out of the
bag. Until now, the saffron party and its affiliates were working
behind the scenes. With the government unable to handle this movement
intelligently, they have mustered the courage to come out in the
open."

Echoing similar sentiments, noted Dalit writer and activist Kancha
Ilaiah described the Team Anna-led anti-graft movement as an "upper
caste movement." "The Saffron brigade is back in the form of Gandhi
topis (caps). This is an upper class movement. All Dalits and
minorities should come on the streets against this," said Ilaiah, a
Political Science Professor at Osmania University in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has also
expressed reservations over Anna's a campaign because of its
"political overtones." The Board said that demeaning the powers of
the Parliament would harm the democratic and secular fabric of the
country. "In principle, we agree with what Hazare is campaigning for.
But we are not for dictating terms to Parliament," the AIMPLB
spokesman S Q R Illyas said.

Owaisi wondered why Anna Hazare or his team members were silent when
gross injustices were meted out to the Muslims, particularly during
the post-Godhra violence in Gujarat.

New Delhi : After taking out a rally at India Gate protesting against
Team Anna's Jan Lokpal Bill, representatives of minority and backward
communities on Friday reasserted their demand for a Bahujan Lokpal
Bill in which they wish to bring in corporate houses, NGOs and media
houses in the ambit of the legislation.

Alleging that the Bills proposed so far — Jan Lokpal, government's
version and NCPRI's version — are not inclusive, members of the All
India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations pushed for their version
that would also have representation of dalits, backwards and
minorities in the Lokpal Committee.

Udit Raj of the All India Confederation of SC/ST Organisations,
addressed a press conference saying, "There will not be much impact to
check graft unless corporate houses, NGOs and media houses are brought
in the ambit of the Bill. The way the government is considering the
features of all the other Bills, such as Government's version of the
Lokpal Bill, Jan Lokpal Bill and NCPRI Bill, the suggestions of
Bahujan Lokpal Bill must also be considered," he said.

"In the Lokpal committee, representation of dalits, backwards and
minorities should be there, as in government services," he said. The
government Bill which is pending for consideration before the Standing
Committee of the Parliament is not strong enough to book the corrupt,
he claimed.

Questioning Hazare's credibility, Udit Raj asked, "Why was Annaji
silent when North Indians in Maharashtra and Muslims in Gujarat were
targeted?"

Dear Friends,

Mh. Gandhi's mad policies and decisions found to be severe headache

for Pt. Nehru's Congress Government and Indian leaders in that era. Due to mass

public force and unity, they followed the mad policies and decisions of Gandhi after

getting Independence to India on 15th August 1947. But the leaders came to the

conclusion that, now there is need of Gandhi, so they finished Gandhi.

Today, new second Gandhi named Mr. Anna Hajare alias Anna Bapat,

Brahmin hero emerged. Still he will not get any national authentic title as like Mahatma,

Rashtra Neta, Shanti Doot etc. Now he is known to be Anna or New Gandhi only. Now

a days Nagpurian people demanding to Government to felicitate Anna Hajare by the

national honor of " Bharat Ratna." And there will be no controversy occur before any

political parties like Congress, BJP or any one to oppose it. Because most of the

Political leaders found to be corrupt one. They definitely support for this demand.

We (Public) are facing lot of problems, due to wrong policies and decisions

of "Indian Black Englishman" Government. When we discussed with our old aged persons,

they say that, we were very happy in "White Englishman" Government as compared to

"Indian Black Englishman" Government. Because that time, we always follow the discipline.
No more space for corruption. But "Indian Black Englishman" Government could not
satisfied to us.
Actually the issue raised by Mr. Anna Hajare was very good. There is no doubt.
But Anna's Gandhian dictatorship pattern of agitation and demands not seem to be
Constitutional. It is a blackmailing procedure. No doubt, Anna is known to be a National
Hero after making 12 days hunger strike agitation and most of the Indian mass blindly with him
as like the Mh. Gandhi's movement. Mass Indian people are not aware about Constitutional
policies or Act. Because we are failure to teach it.
If Government will pass the "Lokpal Bill" in Parliament, then there will be no use
of Anna Hajare alias Bapat for these selfish mentality so called Indian Leaders. Because Anna
always seem to be breakage before their way. Because most of them have getting the big
national publicity. This is a very big danger before Anna. The question arise i.e. " Will Anna
no more as like the incidence of Gandhi".
