SC, ST atrocities case against SCB CEO

HYDERABAD: A Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) member has lodged a
police complaint against the SCB chief executive officer (CEO) S
Balakrishna for using "unparliamentary words" during the recent Board
meeting.
Marredpally inspector N Sudhir confirmed to TOI that a complaint was
received from SCB ward VIII member V Jai Prakash on August 26. "Based
on the complaint, we have registered a case under Section 3 (1) of the
SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the Cantonment Board CEO
S Balakrishna and investigation is on," the inspector added.
A heated argument took place between the CEO and the ward member
during the Board meeting on August 22. When contacted, Jai Prakash
said, "He (CEO) abused me using unparliamentary words. Every word he
uttered is on tape as closed circuit TV (CCTV) has been installed in
the meeting room."
In the complaint, he stated that the CEO tarnished his image and
reputation; hence it warrants prosecution under the relevant laws. Jai
Prakash and the CEO got into an argument over CCTVs installed on SCB
premises.
