Central government's insistence on parting with just four acres of
Indu mills instead of 12.5 for the proposed Dr Ambedkar memorial is
likely to fuel unrest across the state. Republican Party of India
leader Ramdas Athawale plans to take out a morcha on Thursday from
Chaityabhoomi to Indu
mills. "It is the Central government land and we will not rest till we
get it," he said.

Athawale said the acceptance of the proposed plan is out of question.

"We cannot build an international centre in four acres and if the
Central government does not part with 12.5 acres, it will face a hard
time," said Athawale.

In the Rajya Sabha, Union State minister for Textile Panabaaka Lakshmi
made an announcement that the National Textile Corporation would part
just four acres.

Calling it an insult to Dr Ambedkar, Republican Sena activists burnt
the effigy of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

"They are trying to play with our sentiments and we will not allow
it," said Anandraj Ambedkar, president of the Republican Sena.
