The senior partner in DPA, DMK has alloted 10 seats to Viduthalai
Chiruththaigal Katchi(VCK), a dalit outfit lead by hard core LTTE
supporter Thol. Thirumavalavan MP.

VCK party on Monday sealed a poll pact with DMK, getting 10 seats from
its senior partner and scotching reports that it may join the
AIADMK-led alliance.

The deal was sealed at the end of a meeting between the poll
delegations of the two parties, comprising DMK Treasurer and Deputy
Chief Minister M K Stalin and VCK founder and Lok Sabha MP, Thol

DMK said in a press release that the agreement was signed by DMK
president and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Thirumavalavan.

Earlier, reports had suggested that Thirumavalavan may quit the
DMK-led alliance and join the AIADMK camp even as the leader himself
reportedly acknowledged that his party had been receiving 'feelers'
from the AIADMK.

However he had made it clear he will stay in the present alliance.

VCK had contested the 2006 elections as an ally of the AIADMK but
joined the DMK combine soon after.

The DMK had earlier sealed a poll pact with PMK and Indian Union
Muslim League, allotting 31 and three seats respectively but is yet to
make any headway on seat-sharing talks with key ally Congress.
