LUDHIANA: The festival of Baisakhi and 119th birth anniversary of Dr
BR Ambedkar was celebrated by Bharat Swabhiman and Patanjali Yog
Samiti, Ludhiana, by conducting a Yog Vigyan Camp at Rakh Bagh on
Wednesday morning. Krishan Lal Gupta, state president, Patanjali Yog
Samiti, presided over the function.

While conducting yoga exercises and 'pranayam kriyas', Gupta exhorted
participants to spread yoga among the masses to create a healthy
society and liberate people from different kinds of ailments. He said
Baisakhi day was the most sacred and special day for the country, when
Guru Gobind Singh had created Khalsa in 1699 at Anandpur Sahib to
fight against the atrocities and injustices of the rulers of the time.

It is the day when farmers of the region formally start harvesting of
their wheat crop, he added.

Gupta also paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, architect of the
Constitution of India. He also remembered the unmatched sacrifices of
great martyrs and patriots, especially of Jallianwala Bagh incident,
who laid down their lives during the freedom movement.
