Bikaner, Feb 21 (PTI) Three policemen have been booked in connection
with disappearance of a Dalit youth after he was allegedly detained by
cops. A case was registered against Head Constable Shaukat and
Constables Krishna Lal and Subhash of Chatargarh police station after
villagers held protest yesterday demanding immediate steps to trace
the youth, Kishan Lal, who villagers claimed was detained by police on
Friday night along with his brother Naurang. The father of the missing
boy alleged that his two sons were detained by police on Friday night.
After one was released on bail the next day, he inquired about the
second boy but the police claimed that he was not detained. The
relatives alleged that the youth had been murdered and his body was
thrown into a canal. Police have stepped up efforts to trace the
missing boy and have engaged divers to carry out search operation in
Indira Gandhi canal but no recovery has been made so far. PTI CORR SDA
