Dalits angry with YS Jagan
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has faced some rough moments with the dalits in
the Nellore district.
In a village, he was supposed to install two statues. One erected by
the forward castes and another erected by the dalits.
After installing the statue of erected by the upper castes, he was
asked to inaugurate the statue erected by the dalits.
However YS Jagan did not inaugurate it and went off.
This angered the dalits. Vijaykumar, the person who installed the
statue said that he shelled out around 50,000 rupees from his own
pocket for building this statue.
And he himself tore down the banners that he put up. He and the dalits
claimed that YS Jagan did not inaugurate the statue only because the
upper castes asked him to not to do it!
However YS Jagan's aides later claimed that they did not inaugurate
the statue as it was raining heavily.
