DAILEKH, FEB 15 - Some unidentified persons attacked Nara Bahadur
Damai, the eldest son of Sete Damai, who was beaten to death following
an inter-caste marriage of his youngest son, at Toli VDC in Dailekh
district on Tuesday evening.
A group of five masked men ambushed Nara Bahadur while he was
returning home from Toli Bazaar. "The assailants, who were hiding in a
bamboo groove, intercepted me and started kicking and punching. They
threatened to repeat the fate of my father brandishing a knife if I
informed the police about the incident," the victim told the Post.
Nara Bahadur informed the district-based rights activists about the
incident upon reaching home.
Sete's youngest son Santa Bahadur had married Raj Kumari, the daughter
of so-called upper caste Bhakta Bahadur Shahi, some seven months ago.
Sete was beaten to death on August 30, 2011. Five of the murder
suspects are now in police custody.
