RPI ransacks mill compound, demands Ambedkar memorial

Intensifying the agitation for the proposed Dr Ambedkar memorial at
Indu mills compound in Dadar, over 1,000 RPI activists ransacked the
premises on Thursday.
RPI leader Ramdas Athawale took out a rally from Chaityabhoomi to the
Indu mills compound.
On reaching the site, the activists started breaking the property
there while a few of them tried to set afire the wooden material.
However, police refrained them and brought the situation under
control.
"Since the last 10 years, we have been demanding land for the
memorial. We do not want to take possession of the land through
illegal means. We want the entire 12.5 acres," Athawale said.
