Madiga Maha dharna at Indira Park on Dec 10
Hyderabad, Dec 5: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) will be
organizing "Chalo Indira Park-Madigala Maha dharna" against the State
government's indifferent attitude towards SC Categorization on
December 10 from 10 am at Indira Park here.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, MRPS State president
Perupogu Venkateswararao Madiga criticized the Union government for
its delay tactics in introducing SC Categorization Bill in Parliament
at the instance of Mala leaders from the State. Though Chief Minister
N. Kiran Kumar Reddy claims to have convinced the Centre for deletion
of 14(F) clause from the 1975 Presidential Order, why the Chief
Minister was not taking interest in convincing the Centre to introduce
SC Categorization Bill in Parliament, he said. He also warned that the
State would become a cauldron if the Chief Minister failed to make the
Centre to table SC categorization Bill in the Lok Sabha. He demanded
that the Chief Minister lead an all-party leader's delegation to New
Delhi to mount pressure on the Central government to introduce SC
Categorization Bill in the on-going session.
Venkateswararao has demanded that the State government fill SC backlog
posts in the government departments only after SC Categorization Bill
was passed in Parliament. He criticized the State government for
diverting SC and ST funds to other welfare schemes, instead of
spending them for welfare of SC and ST communities in the State.
Other demands include setting up of Special Corporation for Madiga
Community, enhancement of SC reservation in proportion to population,
strict implementation of SC and ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act,
distribution of three acres land to the landless Madigas and
construction of Madiga Bhavans in the Coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and
Telangana regions.
