Dalit woman sarpanch leaves village in fear of Panchayat secretary
Bhan Sahu says we have started Panchayati Raj institutions for
empowerment of poor but have not trained people. And in result the
government appointed employees, the secretaries are making fools of
elected Sarpanchs. Many sarpanchs are facing enquiries when the real
culprits are the secretaries. Thanks to reservation for women and
backward sections many have come forward. As an example she tells the
story of a dalit woman sarpanch of Hachid village in Gormi panchayat
in Chhattisgarh who is forced to leave the village in the fear of
