Dalit Conference In Kakinada
A national level conference on Dalits will be held in Kakinada on October 24th.
23rd Oct, 2010: Forum for Dalit studies will organise a national level
conference on the implementation of Dr. BR Ambedkar's aims and
principles at Ambedkar Bhavan in Kakinada on October 24th.
According to Prof. Arun Kumar from Andhra University, the conference
would be chaired by Dr. Ambedkar's grandson M Anand Teltumbde. RK Kale
and Bala Mungekar (former MP), professors from Gujarat Central
University, would participate as chief guests.
The national conference would focus on rights of Dalits, their
problems in the wake of globalisation and government measures for
upliftment of Dalits.
The conference will discuss implementation of reservation in PSUs in
the wake of the nation celebrating its 60th Independence Day last
August.
Prof. Arun Kumar called upon all Dalit members to participate in the
conference and make it a grand success.
