Man awarded life term for killing Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh

A local court has convicted a man and sentenced him to life
imprisonment for murdering a Dalit woman here today.

The additional district sessions judge AB Singh has also imposed a
fine of Rs5,000 on Dharmendra after holding him guilty.

According to prosecution, Dalit woman Kusum was murdered by Dharmendra
over a petty issue in Haiderpur village of the district on November
16, 2007.
