Dalits convert to Buddhism in Porbander

Rajkot, Apr 26 (PTI) As many as 112 Dalits in Porbander city have
converted to Buddhism at a function here.

In a gathering at Chaupati maidan in Porbander yesterday, 112 Dalits.
including girls and women, accepted Buddhism, co-convener of the
function Karshan Khara said.

Khara said they had taken permission from the district authorities
before organising the function.

When contacted, Porbander District Collector M B Parmar confirmed that
permission was given to the organisers for the event.
