Mayawati takes on Brahmins in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Breaking News! With the Congress getting closer to the Dalits
in Uttar Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has decided to take on
Brahmins and woo the dalits yet again.

On th [Mayawati] e 25th foundation day on March 15, Mayawati sacked
Satish Chandra Mishra from an important post and relegated him to less
important post, raising eyebrows in the political circle inUttar
Pradesh.

Mayawati also removed Vijay Shankar Pandey and his brother Ajay
Shankar Pandey from the Chief Minister's Office. It is speculated that
she is all set to sack nearly 150 government lawyers soon.

Mayawati is worried about Rahul Gandhi's growing influence among the
dalits. She knows that only the Congress can give her a tough fight in
Uttar Pradesh, as the party has good hold over the Muslims, Dalits and
upper caste people.

The BSP supremo is unscathed about the attacks on her over the cash
garlands. But she is desperate to get her dalit image back and
winUttar Pradesh again by doing caste politics again.

Ramvilas Paswan for increasing LS seats

STAFF WRITER 19:30 HRS IST

Patna, Mar 20 (PTI) LJP supremo Ramvilas Paswan today urged the Centre
to raise the number of Lok Sabha seats from existing 543 to 814 and
make provisions for quota for SC, ST, other weaker sections of society
and minorities.

"I have serious apprehensions over the passage of the bill in its
present form...We have suggested increasing the number of seats from
existing 543 to 814 and making provisions for reservation within

minorities in the bill before adoption in the LS," Paswan told
